Why Search Engines Love Blogs

Most website designers believe that a website is all about how it looks, or all about how it works. That’s because a lot of web developers are graphic artists or programmers.

But you and I are marketers, and in today’s Internet, really the most important part about a website is what it says, and how clearly it shows that.

The whole point of Search Engine Optimization is that once a search engine gets to your website, you want it to know exactly what your site — and every page — is all about.

So, if you’re building your site manually with HTML, you want to make sure that:

* You name your directories and pages with keywords
* You make title tags with your keywords
* You create headings with your keywords
* The links between pages are keyword rich
* You use your keywords in the first paragraph of each page
* Your images are named with keywords
. . . and on and on.

That way, the search engines will know your pages and your entire website are about your keywords.

Well the magical thing about a blog is that blogs naturally take care of many of these elements, and to make them do the rest (and lots more stuff that Search Engines like) is very easy.

In other words, it takes almost NO effort to optimize your blog for Google, Yahoo, and other search engines.

Pretty cool, eh?

Oh, and let’s not forget that there is a lot of under-the-hood magic that will connect your blog to other blogs and websites to almost automatically fetch traffic from those other sites.

Take a look at the “Blogs for Marketers Techie Bonus Guide” that you’re getting free as part of this month’s Coaching Club for more information about how to do that.
