Dinner on Me

October 28, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 1 Comment

It’s Karla with Trafficswarm.

I was going over all of the new and existing Trafficswarm members that have upgraded to a Pro membership recently…

To be honest, there are very few members that have choosen to upgrade…

And well this really got me thinking? I mean, I know how valuable a Pro membership can be. I know what 2500 extra credits can mean to anyone who owns a website or is simply trying to earn an income online.

So, John maybe the problem is… I haven’t done a good enough job of showing the value of a Pro membership to you.

Well…

I asked my Boss if I could give a Pro membership to every Trafficswarm member for Free, because I know that if I could just show you the Value in a Pro membership first hand you could see what it could do for your business.

What is one of the easiest things you can do online…today

October 27, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 1 Comment

Hello,

There’s no simpler way to put up a website, put up some content, and get some organic traffic, than with a blog.

This month in the coaching club, we’ve been talking about Blogs and Blogging. And this week, as we finish up the topic, we’re diving deeper during this weeks’ webinar.

We’re going to show you the inside of a blog, how to write a post, how to install a theme, how to install a plugin, and other things that bloggers need to know how to do.

Plus, we’ll be answering your questions, live on the call.

This week we are changing up the time a bit too. The webinar will still be on Thursday, yet we will be live at 5p.m. Pacific (8EDT).

Go ahead and register on your member’s homepage if you haven’t already and mark your calendar:

Testing Affiliate Offers

October 26, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 1 Comment

Lots of people give affiliate marketing a try, see little or no immediate success, and quit.

What a shame.

Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to get started in internet marketing. You don’t need a product of your own, carry no inventory, and get paid half the money, more or less.

So why do some affiliates fail?

Well not all products are good products, and not all marketing is good marketing. In other words, maybe the product you’re promoting wouldn’t sell to anyone, no matter how much traffic you sent to it.

But it’s entirely possible that a nearly identical product might sell like CRAZY. Read more

Can Your Blog Save You Money?

October 26, 2009 · Filed Under General Posts · 3 Comments

So that’s got to be a weird question, right? “Can a blog save you money?”

I’m sure you might think that a blog will cost you money. You might think that setting up a blog is expensive. But you probably didn’t think a blog can save you money.

Well, however strange it might be, it turns out that your blog CAN save you money.

Here’s how. Read more

Making Money With Your Blog

October 19, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 6 Comments

Good traffic plus good offers makes for good money.

There’s lots of ways to make money on your blog. Here are just a few.

* Links to your sales pages. Blogs are a great way to attract traffic, and then send that traffic to the pages that make you money.
* Google Adsense. Google’s advertising program is a great hands-off, automatic way to make money on your website.
* Affiliate Ads. Go find products in the same field as your blog’s topic. Download the banner ad the merchant will provide to you, or make your own. Add your affiliate link, and you’re done.
* Sell banner ads. Yes, banner ads are still alive and well on the web. You’ve got to have a lot of traffic for anyone to bother to pay for ads on your site.
* Paid Links. These are basically text-versions of banner ads. People will pay you for a link on your site to their site.
* Text link ads. There are several ad companies that will turn some of the text on your pages into text links. Advertisers pay for the link to the ad companies (like Chitika and Kontera), and the ad companies share that revenue with you. Neat. Effortless.

Okay, so there are a lot of ways to make money with blogs.

But when you’re just starting out, it’s best to leave your blog ad-free. Don’t be in a hurry to put Adsense and affiliate links on your blog from the beginning. At the very start, concentrate on getting into a regular rhythm of writing on your blog, moderating your comments, and building your traffic.

If you start out with one article, and 10 ads, the few new visitors that you’ll get probably won’t stay very long — or come back for more.

Of course, there’s lots more in this month’s Coaching Club about building your blog, driving traffic, and monetizing your blog.

Log in now to see it all, or attend this month’s webinars and open coaching calls each and every Thursday at Noon PDT, 3pm EDT.

Getting Conversions on Your Blog

October 19, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · 1 Comment

So, what if your online business is all about selling your ebook.

What good is a blog to you?

Well the first answer is that blogs are Traffic Magnets — Search engines and people both love blogs.

But blogs also do their best work by helping your traffic become more familiar with who you are, and what you’re about.

It’s no coincidence that most people like to buy things they need from people they know. A blog gives you an opportunity to show your traffic who you are, and why you’re worth buying from.

Blogs are, by nature, full of free content. So your readers will be getting a big eyeful of the value of your content. Your job, as the owner of a blog about your specialty, is to impress your readers so much that they think to themselves “If his free stuff is THIS good, then the paid stuff has got to be EVEN BETTER!”

And on the path to getting your traffic to buy from you are some opportunities for getting your readers to take action and strengthen his relationship with you.

For example, even though Squeeze Pages are an excellent way to get opt-ins, there’s nothing wrong with putting an opt-in form right on your blog.

One other thing you’ll see on blogs are ads.

Now, these ads don’t have to be paid ads from other marketers. They can just as easily be ads for your own products.

Got another product in a related field? Put an ad for it on your website. Are you an affiliate for a related product? Put an affiliate ad for it on your website. Do you have a list you’re trying to build for your main product?

Heck, you can even put an ad for your squeeze page’s free offer on your website.

Of course, you can also add links to your Twitter feed, your Facebook page, and a bunch of other social media sites that you use to spread your message.

All of these links will help you either sell more product, or build your relationship with your readers.

So do you see the power of using a blog to support your online business? I hope so, because there’s a bunch of resources in the Coaching Club this month to help you build and promote your own blog.

Tilting Your Blog Posts

October 19, 2009 · Filed Under Uncategorized · Comment

If you know anything about Search engines, you know that the words you use to describe your pages and your other content are very important. In fact, it’s what the Search Engines use to determine the content of your site.

In a blog, the name of your article is repeated in many different parts of the site in many different ways. As a result, it is VERY important that you name your posts well if you want the page to have maximum SEO benefit.

Your blog system can automatically use your Post Title. . .

* In the Title Tag of your post. The title tag is the single biggest clue to the Search Engines what your page is about. Ignoring the content of your Title tags is a big mistake.

* In the major heading (h1 or h2 tag) for your post. The Search Engines look at a page’s headings to determine its meaning, too. Any opportunity you have to tell the Search Engine what your page is about is an opportunity you should take.

* As the actual page name of your post. A big help in determining a page’s meaning. It follows that if a page is called “/get-out-of-debt.html” that it’s a page about getting out of debt, right? Your blog will handle this for you, if you let it.

* In many of the links that point to your post. Not only do the Search Engines look at your page to figure out what it’s about, but they also look at the text in the links that point to your site. If the links say “click here”, it doesn’t mean anything to the Search Engines. But, if your link says “get out of debt”, the Search Engine will include those words in its database.

What’s great about blogs is that they are actual computer programs, and for the most part are optimized for the search engines — at least most of the way — so that the right words are used in the right places for the most benefit.

They’ll automatically put your Post title in the right places for the first two items (title tag and major heading), and with minor tweaks they’ll put the keywords in the last two as well.

I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating — Blogs are Traffic Magnets, and search engines love them.

Now you know why.

Log into the coaching club now to find out how to use blogs as the central hub of your online business…or just a simpler way to make money online.
